Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 2 years of experience in a kitchen supervisory role
- capability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- strong organizational skills
- physical ability to perform kitchen tasks
- excellent verbal and written communication
- commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
- ability to work effectively under pressure
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a sous chef or in a similar supervisory kitchen role
- strong leadership and communication skills
- ability to train and mentor kitchen staff
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- proficiency in scheduling and staff evaluation
- ability to manage inventory and kitchen documentation
- culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
- strong problem-solving skills
- familiarity with food preparation and presentation techniques
Job Duties
- Train kitchen associates in job duties including plate presentation and display work
- write schedules, evaluate, and direct kitchen personnel
- maintain open communication between management and staff
- write and present disciplinary actions when necessary
- provide necessary tools and equipment to kitchen staff
- address kitchen problems promptly
- participate in department, staff, and kitchen meetings
- oversee monthly kitchen inventory and MOD program
- ensure high-quality food preparation according to recipes
- assist in setting goals and standards for kitchen operations
- supervise kitchen staff and sanitation associates in absence of Executive Chef
- maintain kitchen records such as roast meat charts and recipe cards
- prepare recipe cards and picture presentations of menu items
- submit payroll hours to Accounting Department on time
