Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 years experience as a Sous Chef, preferably at an upscale hotel
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the kitchen of a high volume, upscale restaurant
  • Banquet experience strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership and delegation skills
  • Strong organizational skills and able to prioritize tasks
  • Strong understanding of wage and hour, hiring, coaching skills
  • A commitment to safety and a positive work environment
  • Knowledge of Health Department guidelines and ServSafe certified
  • Must be a team player and possess the ability to handle situations effectively as they arise
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to occasionally lift 25 lbs or more
  • Must have open availability be able to work on weekdays, weekends and holidays
  • Food Handlers Card
  • Knowledge of technique and passionate about creating the best dishes possible
  • Have experience in fine dining is a must
  • Must have experience in catering and banquets
  • Have experience in high volume is a plus
  • Have strong leadership skills
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a big plus

Job Duties

  • Leadership and training of cooks
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and FOH to lead and motivate the staff
  • Liaise with the front of the house and hotel staff, ensuring a positive guest experience
  • Expediting food
  • Ordering, including quality control
  • Inventory
  • Controlling labor and food cost
