Job Requirements
- Physical ability to stand or walk continuously for up to 8 hours a day
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push/pull, and frequently lift/move up to 30 pounds
- Experience in cooking and kitchen operations
- Certification in food safety and handling
- Knowledge of HACCP regulations
- Ability to manage kitchen staff
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Strong foundation in cooking techniques including sauteing, roasting, braising
- Menu planning and recipe development skills
- Knowledge of international cuisines and food presentation
- Ability to follow company and HACCP policies and procedures
- Ability to control company resources and adhere to budgetary guidelines
- Certification in proper food handling and food safety guidelines
- Detail oriented with ability to perform mathematical calculations and follow equipment and recipe directions
- Understanding of flavor profiles and seasonings with ability to cost-effectively select menu items
- Expert understanding of safety and sanitation in the kitchen
- Initiative and good judgment in assigning tasks, delegating and resolving problems
- Good communication skills
- Ability to supervise and secure cooperation of dining service operations employees
- Professional image and promotion of safety standards
Job Duties
- Work to continually improve customer satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget
- Supervise all kitchen areas to ensure a consistent, high quality product is produced
- Ensure sanitation and food standards are achieved
- Prepare food by operating a variety of kitchen equipment
- Read menus and recipes, estimate food preparation amounts, check or assist in creating production records
- Clean and sanitize work stations and follow all HACCP regulations
- Produce small and large batch cooking
