Job Requirements
- Possess a high degree of knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen operation, sanitation, leadership skills and supervisory abilities
- Graduate of an approved culinary school
- Desire for exceptional quality and high concern for customer satisfaction, food quality and presentation
- Minimum five years of experience in a high quality restaurant environment
- Computer literate, i.e., Windows XP, Word and Excel
- Good communication skills a must
- Ability to coach, mentor and guide associates
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Job Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved culinary school
- Advanced degree or ACF certification is a plus
- Minimum five years of experience in a high-quality restaurant environment
- Computer literate including proficiency in Windows XP, Word, and Excel
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor and guide associates
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen operation, sanitation, and supervisory abilities
Job Duties
- Supervise a department staff as well as working with other sous chefs and coordinating with them to maintain a successful culinary department
- Oversee the production of all menu items in your area with attention to detail
- Manage the labor and food costs of your department
- Ensure proper production of food focusing on quantity, quality, and food usage
- Manage waste effectively
- Monitor product inventories
- Ensure food is available at appropriate times
- Maintain cleanliness and compliance with sanitation codes of the kitchen
- Train staff in proper seasoning and preparation of food
- Assist other food and beverage outlets as needed
- Communicate with Executive Chef concerning day-to-day staff, equipment, and food issues
- Perform additional duties as assigned
