Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Recent experience in line cook or sous chef role
- Ability to read and follow complex recipes and cooking instructions
- Knowledge of basic knife skills and various cooking techniques
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and guests
- Must maintain up to date ServSafe certification
- Flexible availability including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team player
- Ability to independently solve routine kitchen problems
Job Qualifications
- Recent kitchen experience as a line cook or sous chef
- Knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and kitchen procedures
- Ability to read and comprehend complex recipes and instructions
- Strong communication skills and ability to give constructive feedback
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
- Experience leading or supervising kitchen staff preferred
- ServSafe certification is a plus
Job Duties
- Lead daily kitchen operations and support menu planning and food preparation
- Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and kitchen sanitation
- Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff to promote professional development
- Ensure timely and high-quality food service in coordination with front-of-house staff
- Lead special projects including menu planning for museum events and cooking demonstrations
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and ServSafe certification
- Support Executive Chef and step into leadership role as needed
