Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education development diploma
  • Post-secondary culinary training preferred
  • 3 to 5 years experience with kitchen operations and staff supervision
  • Certification in Serve Safe Management
  • Demonstrated team management and delegation skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-project time management skills
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
  • Comfortable conversing with individuals

Job Duties

  • Assist in supervising the day to day activities of kitchen staff
  • Assign responsibilities for specified work and set deadlines
  • Promote safety and sanitation by inspecting food handling and following HACCP procedures
  • Assist with menu planning, inventory and managing supplies
  • Maintain effective cost control, service and quality standards
  • Comply with company and franchise standards as well as applicable regulatory agency requirements
  • Serve as a resource in problem resolution
  • Provide recommendations for hiring, firing, advancement or promotion of kitchen associates
  • Maintain effective communication and positive associate relations including performance reviews and discipline
  • Provide the highest quality of customer service and support staff training
