Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Assist in the planning and development of menus and recipes
  • ensure correct preparation and presentation of food items
  • prepare or supervise kitchen staff in food preparation
  • control labor and operating expenses through scheduling and budgeting
  • prepare reports and arrange schedules
  • ensure sanitation standards compliance
  • maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization
  • assist in food procurement and storage
  • maintain quality and portion control
  • monitor food shipments
  • communicate with employees and managers
  • coordinate menu tastings and pre-meal meetings
  • supervise and train employees
  • ensure proper staffing
  • control food and payroll costs
  • assume charge of kitchen in absence of executive chef
  • monitor employee time cards
  • prepare food items
  • assist with set-up and cleaning
  • maintain security of kitchen and inventories
  • expedite food orders during peak hours
  • coordinate buffet presentations
  • work in assigned stations
