Job Requirements

  • Prior frontline cooking experience including sauté, grill, salad, soup, entrée
  • Ability to work full time schedule Monday through Friday with variable hours
  • Open availability including days, nights and weekends preferred for catering events
  • Ability to supervise and manage hourly food service associates
  • Strict adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols
  • Ability to maintain clean and organized workstations
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with team members and customers

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous frontline cooking experience including sauté, grill, salad, soup, entrée preparation preferred
  • Experience in supervising and training kitchen staff preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including days, nights, and weekends
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards
  • Ensure all deadlines are met based on production orders
  • Supervise hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews and recommending disciplinary action as appropriate
  • Store food in designated areas following all corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
  • Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils
  • Clean workstation thoroughly before leaving area
  • Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service to comply with all sanitation, safety, production and merchandising requirements
  • Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Relay relevant information directly to supervisor
  • Demonstrate complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to associates and customers
  • Keep up with peak production and service hours
  • Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies
  • Track product production, consumption and waste
  • Inform supervisor when supplies or product are low
  • Perform other duties as assigned
