The role of Sous Chef at Maggiano's is pivotal to maintaining the kitchen's heartbeat and ensuring the highest standards of culinary quality. As the Sous Chef, you will lead the line and serve as a mentor to the kitchen team, including line cooks and prep cooks. This position requires close collaboration with the Executive Chef to uphold the restaurant’s culinary standards while guiding and developing emerging kitchen talent. The Sous Chef will manage daily kitchen operations to ensure seamless service execution while maintaining Maggiano's food quality, consistency, and presentation standards. You will perform line checks to guarantee every dish meets expectations, manage food production and inventory effectively to minimize waste, and uphold stringent sanitation and food safety standards per health regulations. Being adaptable is also essential, as you may be required to step into various kitchen stations during high-volume periods to support the team. Collaboration with the leadership team to control food costs and drive operational excellence will be a key aspect of your responsibilities.   • 2+ years of management experience in a full-service restaurant
  • strong command of Italian-American cuisine and classic cooking techniques
  • proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a kitchen team
  • knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health code compliance
  • flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • able to perform essential job functions in a dynamic restaurant environment
  • able to move throughout the restaurant and transport supplies weighing up to 30 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
