Job Description
BARna is shorthand for Barcelona, Spain. BARna is an innovative hospitality concept where global soccer culture seamlessly blends with a high-energy Spanish tapas bar experience. Rooted in the rich traditions of Barcelona, this venue is designed specifically for a next-generation audience seeking a dynamic and social environment. BARna merges live and classic match viewing with a robust tapas-style menu and an extensive beverage program, all housed within a layered setting that encourages all-day engagement and frequent visits.
Unlike a traditional sports bar, BARna operates as a comprehensive eatertainment platform where hospitality, competition, and social interaction intersect. Its expansive 10,000-square-foot venue includes 500 square feet dedicated to state-of-the-art sports viewing technology. Guests aren’t just passive viewers; they engage actively through a curated range of interactive activations. These activations include flight-tracking dart technology, AI-enabled puck-tracking shuffleboard, MultiBall digital projection games like PK shootouts and SubSoccer, as well as a variety of classic board games. The interactive experiences foster a vibrant atmosphere, designed to increase energy and dwell time.
Further enhancing the guest experience are private karaoke rooms, dedicated match-viewing suites, and flexible event spaces ideal for group celebrations, corporate gatherings, or any large social event. This flexibility and attention to design detail enable BARna to successfully perform across multiple dayparts and serve diverse use cases.
BARna is not merely a sports bar; it’s a culture-driven, design-forward concept engineered for scale and volume. It redefines the way soccer is experienced in the United States and supports a community centered on passion, connection, and exceptional food and drink.
The BARna Sous Chef position is a full-time opportunity located at the new Colfax Ave location in Denver, opening June 1. The position offers an immediate start, beginning with pre-opening activities and continuing through the official launch and beyond.
BARna represents a unique opportunity to join a growing hospitality brand focused on Spanish tapas-inspired cuisine combined with an electrifying match-day atmosphere. The restaurant prioritizes elevated small plates created with seasonal ingredients and a steadfast commitment to excellence in both food quality and guest experience.
The Sous Chef will be an integral part of the kitchen leadership team, working closely with the Executive Chef to develop menus, execute excellent kitchen operations, and lead the culinary team to deliver consistent high-quality dishes. This role demands a motivated culinary professional skilled in Spanish cuisine, passionate about creating memorable experiences linked to global soccer culture, and capable of maintaining rigorous standards in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
