As a Sous Chef at Mediterraneo, you will be an integral part of the kitchen leadership, working closely under the guidance of the Head Chef. Your role will encompass managing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that every dish leaving the kitchen meets our high standards of quality and presentation. You will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, coordinating food preparation, and maintaining the overall efficiency of the kitchen environment.

Your ability to motivate and discipline staff will help maintain a productive and positive workplace atmosphere. Your leadership will be essential in building apprenticeship and staff development programs that foster growth and enhance skills within the team.
You will work collaboratively with front-of-house management to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction, as well as participate in service education through daily pre-shift meetings and menu reviews. Financial management is a critical aspect of the position, requiring you to keep food and labor costs within budgetary guidelines while maintaining quality and service standards. Should any obstacles to financial goals arise, it is your responsibility to identify and communicate these issues promptly to management.
Your commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas will support the restaurant's compliance with health regulations and its reputation for excellence. Supervisory duties include overseeing daily cleaning routines, working with the Head Chef to foster a positive work culture, and adhering to company policies and employment laws.

Job Requirements
- Four years of management experience as a restaurant chef or sous chef
- Food safety and manager certification
- Customer and client focus with expertise in food product, presentation, quality and preparation and menu concept and design
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and instructions
- Ability to perform arithmetic computations including add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
