Sullivan's Steakhouse, a distinguished division under Dividend Restaurant Group, is currently seeking qualified and passionate Sous Chefs to join their team. This role provides a unique opportunity to work in an upscale steakhouse environment where culinary excellence and guest satisfaction are paramount. The Sous Chef position is designed for culinary professionals who have proven experience in upscale casual dining or fine dining establishments and who have a strong command of broiler skills. Responsibilities include assisting the Executive Chef in both the culinary and administrative aspects of kitchen operations to ensure smooth daily functionality and to help achieve financial goals.
Sous Chefs at Sullivan’s Steakhouse are key team leaders who contribute creativity by developing unique dishes and menu items for daily features and special events. They are also instrumental in accommodating guests’ dietary restrictions and preferences. The role requires assisting in budget preparation and monitoring food, labor, and other costs to maintain profitability. Ideal candidates have at least two years of Sous Chef experience, with additional experience in a steakhouse considered a strong advantage. Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Sous Chef experience in upscale casual or fine dining environment
- Strong broiler skills
- Experience in steakhouse preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work in fast-paced kitchen environment
- Food safety knowledge
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef in upscale casual or fine dining
- Proficiency with broiler cooking techniques
- Experience in a steakhouse setting is a plus
- Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Job Duties
- Assist Executive Chef when present and act on behalf when absent in organizing, training and employee management
- Assist Executive Chef to prepare data for budget, project annual food, labor and other costs, monitor financial results and take corrective action
- Regularly create unique dishes and menu items for daily features and specialty events
- Consult with guests to meet dietary restrictions and palate preferences
- Support kitchen operations to ensure food quality, safety, and efficiency
- Lead kitchen staff and oversee daily meal preparation processes
- Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed
