Job Requirements

  • Minimum two-year culinary degree preferred
  • At least five years food preparation experience in high-volume dining
  • Three years supervisory experience
  • Experience in senior living preferred
  • Safe Serve certification required
  • Knowledge of food handling and safety regulations
  • Ability to read and follow recipes
  • Leadership skills
  • Fluent English communication
  • Meet attendance and punctuality standards
  • Computer literacy
  • Able to work independently

Job Qualifications

  • 2-year culinary degree preferred
  • Minimum five years of food preparation experience in a high-volume dining services venue
  • At least three years in a supervisory capacity
  • Experience in a senior living environment preferred
  • Possess and maintain Safe Serve certification
  • Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and safety protocols
  • Ability to read, write and follow recipe directions
  • Ability to lead and direct the work of others
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
  • Ability to meet or exceed attendance and punctuality standards
  • Ability to use miscellaneous software and office equipment
  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Job Duties

  • Supervises all daily food production and production staff
  • Responsible for hot and cold food production, including accompaniments and garnishes
  • Ensures food items are prepared visually appealing and tasty according to established standards
  • Completes food temperature checks each meal and ensures compliance with food safety standards
  • Checks and tastes all food items prepared
  • Completes preparation records and manages proper food storage and rotation of leftovers
  • Ensures all cleaning assignments are completed and maintains a safe working environment
  • Follows safety and sanitation protocols rigorously
  • Demonstrates knowledge of fire safety procedures
  • Cooperates with other departments
  • Maintains communication and professional relationships between front and back of house operations
  • Participates in required training and education programs
  • Performs other duties as assigned
