This philosophy focuses on creating personalized and nourishing dining experiences that aid in healing and support the healthful missions of its clients. The company's unique blend of culinary artistry, nutritional science, and operational excellence allows it to serve more than 600 million meals annually, demonstrating an unparalleled scale and dedication to quality.
Morrison Healthcare is known for its consistent delivery of high-standard meals through a team of more than 1,600 registered dietitians and 1,200 executive chefs, ensuring that each meal provided meets dietary needs and promotes patient wellbeing. Its recognition as one of Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work and acknowledgments by Training Magazine as a Top 125/APEX Award Training Organization further underline its commitment to employee development and workplace excellence.
The role of Sous Chef at Morrison Healthcare offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals who are passionate about advancing their careers within healthcare food services. This position is pivotal in managing the daily culinary operations of a facility’s kitchen, working closely with the Executive Chef to ensure the preparation and presentation of food items meet strict quality standards. As a Sous Chef, you will assist in menu development, food preparation, and garnish design, providing leadership to hourly kitchen associates and supporting the execution of catering events and culinary programs that enhance patient and client satisfaction.
This role requires a blend of creativity and operational acumen, especially in handling cost controls and managing expenditures to align with budget requirements. You will play an instrumental role in rolling out new culinary initiatives while collaborating with marketing and culinary teams to uphold the brand’s promise of excellence. Ideal candidates are expected to have some experience in culinary or kitchen management, with a preference for those having strong catering backgrounds and exposure to complex, high-volume foodservice environments.
Moreover, proficiency in computer applications like Microsoft Office Suite—including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint—email, and internet use is necessary to support various administrative duties and client interactions. Morrison Healthcare values candidates with ServSafe certification and those who demonstrate a proactive approach to client satisfaction programs and activities. This position not only challenges culinary skills but also fosters an entrepreneurial spirit within a supportive and growing organization, making it an excellent career advancement opportunity in the healthcare food service industry.
