Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Communicate with guests, employees, and departments to ensure team coordination and guest satisfaction
  • Answer guest questions regarding the origin, harvest, and style of various wines
  • Create, update, and maintain wine lists
  • Pair and suggest wines to complement menu items
  • Assist with wine tastings and develop relationships with suppliers
  • Request new wines and products
  • Design and implement wine promotions and incentive programs
  • Monitor and replenish inventory of the wine cellar, equipment, and glassware
  • Conduct vintage and BIN number checks
  • Perform wine tastings with staff
  • Complete opening and closing tasks including organizing supplies, cleaning, and securing areas
  • Inspect storage areas for organization, cleanliness, and FIFO system use
  • Complete scheduled inventory and order necessary supplies
  • Monitor dining rooms for available seating, quality service, safety, and guest wellbeing
  • Complete maintenance work orders
  • Provide, open, and serve bottles of wine or champagne
  • Secure liquors, beers, wines, refrigerators, cabinets, and storage areas
  • Comply with all state and local laws regarding responsible alcohol service
  • Maintain accurate spill logs
  • Collaborate with management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, motivating, and coaching employees
  • Serve as a role model and first point of contact for the Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
  • Maintain company uniform and a professional appearance
  • Protect company property and confidential information
  • Support colleagues and treat all coworkers with dignity and respect
  • Assist the team in achieving common goals
  • Meet quality assurance expectations and standards
  • Perform physical tasks such as moving, lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds
