Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum two years of related experience
- ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds
- ability to stand or walk for long periods
- effective communication skills
- adherence to company uniform and appearance standards
- compliance with safety policies
- no prior supervisory experience required
- legal eligibility to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Technical, trade, or vocational school diploma
- at least two years of related work experience
- knowledge of wine varieties, vintages, and service standards
- strong communication skills
- ability to work effectively in a team environment
- proficiency in inventory management
- experience with MICROS or similar restaurant systems
- ability to train and educate staff
- understanding of safety and quality standards
- fluency in Spanish and English is advantageous
Job Duties
- Deliver, open, and serve bottles of wine and champagne
- respond to guest inquiries regarding wine origin, vintage, and style
- update and maintain wine lists and MICROS system
- suggest complementary wines to accompany menus
- attend wine tastings and cultivate relationships with suppliers
- request new wines and products
- create and update wine lists
- devise and implement wine promotions and incentive programs
- verify and replenish inventory of the bodega, equipment, and glassware
- train and educate waiters and bar staff
- conduct vintage and BIN number verifications
- carry out staff wine tastings
- secure liquors, beers, wines, refrigerators, storage areas
- comply with all company safety policies and procedures
- report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
- complete safety training and certifications
- ensure professional appearance and personal grooming
- maintain confidentiality of company information and assets
- support coworkers with dignity and respect
- assist team in achieving common goals
- meet quality assurance expectations and standards
- move, lift, transport, push, drag, and place objects weighing under 50 pounds without assistance
- stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
- read and visually verify information in various formats
- perform fine motor skills tasks requiring hand-eye coordination
- reach overhead and below knees, including bending, twisting, dragging, and stooping
- navigate narrow, confined, elevated spaces
- move on inclined, uneven, slippery surfaces and stairs
- greet and acknowledge guests per company standards
- speak clearly and professionally
- answer calls following proper etiquette
- perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors
