Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum two years of related experience
  • ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds
  • ability to stand or walk for long periods
  • effective communication skills
  • adherence to company uniform and appearance standards
  • compliance with safety policies
  • no prior supervisory experience required
  • legal eligibility to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Technical, trade, or vocational school diploma
  • at least two years of related work experience
  • knowledge of wine varieties, vintages, and service standards
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • proficiency in inventory management
  • experience with MICROS or similar restaurant systems
  • ability to train and educate staff
  • understanding of safety and quality standards
  • fluency in Spanish and English is advantageous

Job Duties

  • Deliver, open, and serve bottles of wine and champagne
  • respond to guest inquiries regarding wine origin, vintage, and style
  • update and maintain wine lists and MICROS system
  • suggest complementary wines to accompany menus
  • attend wine tastings and cultivate relationships with suppliers
  • request new wines and products
  • create and update wine lists
  • devise and implement wine promotions and incentive programs
  • verify and replenish inventory of the bodega, equipment, and glassware
  • train and educate waiters and bar staff
  • conduct vintage and BIN number verifications
  • carry out staff wine tastings
  • secure liquors, beers, wines, refrigerators, storage areas
  • comply with all company safety policies and procedures
  • report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
  • complete safety training and certifications
  • ensure professional appearance and personal grooming
  • maintain confidentiality of company information and assets
  • support coworkers with dignity and respect
  • assist team in achieving common goals
  • meet quality assurance expectations and standards
  • move, lift, transport, push, drag, and place objects weighing under 50 pounds without assistance
  • stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • read and visually verify information in various formats
  • perform fine motor skills tasks requiring hand-eye coordination
  • reach overhead and below knees, including bending, twisting, dragging, and stooping
  • navigate narrow, confined, elevated spaces
  • move on inclined, uneven, slippery surfaces and stairs
  • greet and acknowledge guests per company standards
  • speak clearly and professionally
  • answer calls following proper etiquette
  • perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors
