Job Duties

  • monitor departmental logistics efficiency and suggest improvements
  • assist in and conduct wine training for new and existing staff
  • monitor wine deliveries and organize wine cellar
  • provide friendly, courteous, and efficient service to guests
  • help customers choose wines suited to meals and budgets
  • resolve guest complaints related to wine service
  • offer wine expertise and oversee wine service on the restaurant floor
  • support dining staff with wine and service-related issues
  • build guest loyalty through personalized service and maintaining preference notes
  • anticipate guest needs and recommend after dinner drinks
  • maintain cocktail cart and prepare cocktails at tables
  • monitor quality of wine and glassware
  • set up service stations with ice buckets
  • train staff on bottle presentation, decanting, and pouring
  • communicate inventory levels and wine changes to staff
  • maintain inventory system for bottle movement
  • conduct monthly beverage inventories and update internal sheets
  • ensure menu and POS wine accuracy
  • communicate changes to corporate departments
  • handle deliveries and invoices in absence of receiver
  • coordinate cocktail orders with bartenders
  • prepare wine station for events
  • suggest promotions to maximize financial performance
  • enforce alcohol laws and provide TIPs training
  • maintain safety and security of employees and guests
  • pursue ongoing wine industry education and knowledge development
