This opportunity is for the position of Sommelier at Blossom at ARIA, one of MGM Resorts’ signature dining venues that specializes in modern Chinese cuisine. The Sommelier plays a vital role in elevating the dining experience by expertly curating and presenting an exceptional wine program tailored to complement the unique flavors of the menu. The role demands a deep knowledge of wines, including varietals, regions, and proper pairings to enhance aroma, balance, and taste. The Sommelier will be responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of the wine list by managing cellar inventories, sourcing new wines, and collaborating closely with kitchen and service staff to deliver a cohesive and sophisticated wine service to guests.

Job Requirements
- Be 21 plus years of age
- High school diploma GED or equivalent
- 1 plus years of prior relevant experience
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Knowledge of wine and beverage industry

Job Duties
- Maintain complete knowledge of wine list and wine and food pairing
- Collect money while following all proper cash handling and comp procedures
- Clean equipment tools and supplies and ensure equipment is in good working order including cleanliness sanitation and appearance of workstation
- Maintain and update cellar storage inventory according to set pars and internal controls and request product to maintain stock in designated area
- Meet regularly with the wine trade to actively seek quality wines for the restaurant wine program as well as evaluate wines and other beverage for potential purchase
- Eliminate waste by training and supervising employees on wine knowledge pour levels proper storage etc
- Verify accuracy of wine delivery ordered and received from the main warehouse and return or exchange deliveries when a warehouse error has occurred
- Maintain appropriate beverage costs by managing purchases and requisitions place wine requisitions at the end of each service
- Perform other job-related duties as requested
