Job Requirements
- Certified accreditation from a recognized organization such as Court of Master Sommelier or WSET
- minimum of four years experience in high volume elevated dining restaurant
- detail-oriented with effective communication and written skills
- state compliant food handling certificate

Job Duties
- Understand wines-by-the-glass program and pairings
- manage wine cellar and provide proper wine service including decanting and glassware use
- understand menus, ingredients, origins, preparation methods, and allergy restrictions
- possess advanced knowledge of cocktail programs and spirits
- have comprehensive knowledge of beer and non-alcoholic beverage programs
- maintain COGS and inventory levels within targets
- understand financial management including budgets and profit and loss statements
- curate wine and sake program per brand standards
- maintain wine database with accurate mapping
- select wines and sake to create comprehensive wine lists
- develop relationships with winemakers and vendors
- mentor junior sommeliers and host educational seminars
- provide ongoing training for staff on beverage programs
- keep updated on new products and industry techniques
- comply with departmental policies and service procedures
- use and maintain equipment properly
- anticipate and promptly respond to guest needs
- attend employee meetings and suggest improvements
- handle, store, and rotate products correctly
- comply with company policies
- report equipment and food quality issues to management
- maintain positive coworker and guest relations
- comply with state sanitation and health regulations
