Job Requirements
- Must have Food Handler certificate
- at least two years previous high-end restaurant or hotel experience
- level 2 Sommelier certification or higher from an accredited program
- ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for extended periods
- may be required to lift trays of food or drinks up to 20 lbs
- must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks
- must be able to receive and carry multiple bottles of wine at a time, including full cases
Job Qualifications
- At least two years previous high-end restaurant or hotel experience
- level 2 Sommelier certification or higher from an accredited program
- excellent listener and communicator
- ability to focus on guest interaction and multitask
- team player and able to anticipate others' needs
- positive attitude
- ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required
Job Duties
- Actively engaged in the salesmanship of wine and beverages
- greet guests in a friendly and efficient manner
- suggestively upsell the best wines for personal tastes and food choices
- take the order and accurately put it into POS
- marking tables with wine glasses
- marking food and drinks at the table when needed
- ensure wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware
- decanting of wines when necessary
- tasting and quality check of wines before presentation to the guest
- maintaining pour levels and clearing glasses
- provide efficient drink running service
- provide all related beverage services
- bi-weekly wine inventory
- weekly wine ordering with manager approval
- all other duties as assigned
- must have Food Handler certificate
