Job Requirements

  • Must be able to speak clearly, read, write and understand English to facilitate communication
  • Must have previous experience in wine service or sommelier roles preferred
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 30 lbs
  • Must be physically fit to perform all duties including serving and setting up
  • Willingness to work collaboratively within a team
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Must adhere to Jose Andres Group standards and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Wine certification from a recognized organization a plus
  • Knowledge of Spanish wines and regions
  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
  • Thorough knowledge of menu items and service procedures
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure in a team environment
  • Self-motivated and organized

Job Duties

  • Actively perform wine service with a focus on guest experience and sales
  • Take beverage orders and serve wine, beer, cocktails, and other drinks according to JAG standards
  • Observe dining and serving areas for cleanliness and proper setup
  • Ensure correct storing methods and conditions for wine
  • Collaborate with Beverage Leads, General Managers, and Head Chefs to develop wine training programs
  • Demonstrate wine service techniques and proper execution regularly
  • Conduct research on new wine products and market opportunities
  • Maintain communication with local vendors and distributors to ensure adequate wine supply
  • Utilize software tools such as Excel, Micros, and Compeat for wine control and inventory
  • Assist in organizing wine-related events and festivals
  • Ensure accurate utilization of wine control methods at the restaurant level
  • Participate in monthly inventory counts
  • Assist in maintaining opening, closing, and running side work regarding wine and glassware requisition and stock
