Job Requirements

  • minimum 2 years sommelier experience
  • comprehensive knowledge of old and new world wine regions and producers
  • strong guest service orientation
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • physical ability to stand and walk for entire shifts
  • ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to perform basic math and operate POS
  • fluency in English
  • ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • maintain a clean, well-organized wine cellar in accordance with company standards
  • recommend wine and beverage pairings to guests
  • upsell tableside offerings and retail wine selections
  • keep staff informed of beverage changes
  • assist with monthly inventory
  • defend and promote product brands
  • identify tables and seat numbers accurately
  • maintain station cleanliness
  • know cocktail list details including drinks, specs and flavor profiles
  • understand wine by producer, variety, region, vintage, history and flavor profiles
  • perform proper standards for opening bottles and tableside service
  • provide warm, knowledgeable, and appreciative service to guests
  • make guests feel welcomed and accommodated
  • act professionally and maintain composure
  • report problems to management immediately
  • be aware of service flow and dining timing
  • adjust service to individual guest needs
  • follow steps of service rigorously
  • respond to guest needs by taking orders, running food, and bussing tables
  • oversee activities of your team in the station
