Hawksmoor is set in a stunning restaurant space in New York City, housed within a beautiful National Historic Landmark originally built as The United Charities Building in 1893. This remarkable venue features an awe-inspiring 10-metre ceilinged assembly hall, which forms the main room of the restaurant. Located just off Park Avenue South and north of the prestigious Gramercy Park and Union Square, Hawksmoor offers an exceptional dining experience in an iconic setting. The role on offer is for a Sommelier who will report directly to the Bar/Beverage Manager and Lead Sommelier. The Sommelier role at Hawksmoor NYC is dynamic and integral to the restaurant's success. The successful candidate will play a key role in executing the Hawksmoor wine program, ensuring that service and hospitality standards remain high and consistent throughout the dining experience. This includes cultivating a deep understanding of the full wine selection and other beverage offerings. Additionally, the Sommelier will support the Lead Sommelier in managing and maintaining the wine program, while maintaining a strong presence on the restaurant floor to support the front-of-house team. This position demands a professional with exceptional interpersonal skills who can work harmoniously across various departments while showcasing exemplary product knowledge of food, beverage, and most importantly, wine. Job Duties

  • Successfully executing the Hawksmoor wine programme in NYC
  • supporting the Lead Sommelier in running and maintaining the wine programme in NYC
  • ensure service and hospitality standards are high and consistent through good understanding of the full wine programme and all other products
  • being a strong presence on the floor supporting the Front of House team
