The Sommelier position is a full-time role focused extensively on the strategic management of the wine offerings, staff education, and fostering a culture of wine appreciation. This individual will collaborate closely with the Beverage Director and General Manager to maintain and expand the venue’s wine program, ensuring it remains innovative and aligned with current trends. Emphasizing staff and manager training, the Sommelier will be responsible for organizing the wine cellar, monitoring inventory levels, enforcing standards of wine service, and driving sales growth while controlling costs. In addition to managing everyday wine operations, the Sommelier will curate and update the wine list, negotiate purchasing agreements, and coordinate wine tasting events to engage both staff and guests. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experience in a Sommelier or related role
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- Knowledge of wine varieties and pairings
- Experience managing inventory and purchasing
