This role of Sommelier is a pivotal position within the h.wood Group, tailored for an individual passionate about the beverage industry and skilled in hospitality. As the Sommelier, you will act as the chief salesperson and ambassador for the beverage program, which includes expertise in a broad spectrum ranging from beer and wine to cocktails and spirits. The role is designed to enhance the guest experience through impeccable service, a welcoming demeanor, and extensive beverage knowledge. Responsibilities include managing wine inventory, overseeing supplies related to the beverage program, and maintaining accurate records within the POS system. Effective communication and organization are crucial, as the Sommelier coordinates closely with suppliers and wine trade professionals to curate and sustain a premier wine list that complements the restaurant's menu offerings. This full-time, hourly position offers $20 per hour plus commission, and candidates with availability from Thursday through Sunday are preferred. Job Requirements
- Must have certified accreditation from a recognized organization such as Court of Master Sommelier or WSET
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in high volume, elevated dining restaurant
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Detail oriented with effective communication and written skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Team player
- Self-motivated and performance driven
- Professional and courteous
- Ability to remain in stationary position for up to 8 hours
