Delilah Miami, a part of this esteemed group, is currently seeking a knowledgeable and service-oriented Sommelier to enhance its guest experience through expert wine guidance and exceptional beverage service. The Sommelier will work closely with the Wine Director to ensure the beverage program exceeds the restaurant’s standards. This role involves guiding guests thoughtfully through an extensive wine list, making tailored wine and food pairing recommendations, and maintaining a warm and professional service atmosphere. The position also includes essential inventory management duties such as stocking, updating cellar inventory, and maintaining accurate records within the POS system. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for hospitality, a strong interest in wine, and a desire to contribute to a top-tier restaurant’s beverage program while expanding their professional skills within a dynamic and prestigious company.

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in high volume, elevated dining restaurant
  • Must have Food Handler's Certification
  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be detail oriented and possess effective communication and written skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must be a team player
  • Self-motivated and performance driven
  • Professional and courteous
  • Remain in stationary position for up to 8 hours throughout the work shift
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance

Job Duties

  • Maintain complete knowledge of wine list and wine and food pairings
  • Clean equipment, tools, and supplies for wine service and ensure equipment is in good working order including cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance
  • Maintain and update cellar storage inventory according to set pars and internal controls and request product to maintain stock
  • Meet regularly with the wine trade to actively seek quality wines for the restaurant wine program and evaluate wines and other beverages for potential purchase
  • Eliminate waste by training and supervising employees on wine knowledge, pour levels, proper storage
  • Verify accuracy of wine delivery ordered and received from the main warehouse and return or exchange deliveries when a warehouse error has occurred
  • Maintain appropriate beverage costs by managing purchases and requisitions
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested
