Job Description

The Global Ambassador is a distinguished hotel establishment that epitomizes refined hospitality with a global mindset. Founded by renowned hospitality innovator Sam Fox, this luxury hotel is the newest addition to Author & Edit, Fox's expanding collection of high-end hospitality experiences. Strategically located at the intersection of Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Paradise Valley, The Global Ambassador features 141 impeccably designed rooms and suites, world-class dining options, and an extensive wellness center, creating a premier destination for travelers seeking luxury, comfort, and cultural inspiration in one seamless experience.

From its inception, The Global Ambassador has been recognized for its excellence in hospitality. It proudly holds a MICHELIN Key for both 2024 and 2025, an accolade that showcases the quality and innovation of its culinary offerings and service. Additionally, it was honored as one of Esquire's Best New Hotels in the World and featured on Condé Nast Traveler's Hot List, reflecting its status as a trendsetting and luxurious lodging choice. The property boasts six unique dining venues, each inspired by global cuisines, along with an exclusive members club and a bespoke fitness and wellness center including a luxury spa. This combination of amenities creates an all-encompassing environment where guests indulge in exceptional food, relaxation, and cultural connectivity.

The role of the Sommelier at The Global Ambassador is both dynamic and prestigious, offering a unique opportunity to engage in a market-leading wine and beverage program led by highly skilled professionals—the Wine Director Jonathan Ross MS and Head Sommelier Laura Bruno. Sommelier team members are central to curating an exceptional guest experience by managing an extensive and thoughtfully curated wine list across multiple dining concepts within the hotel. The position offers a fast-paced environment where passion for hospitality, teamwork, and excellence merge, allowing individuals to grow their skills and develop leadership capabilities in luxury hospitality settings.

Ideal candidates for the Sommelier position must have at least two years of luxury dining room and/or wine experience, emphasizing expertise and refined service standards. The responsibilities include curating and maintaining an engaging wine list in collaboration with chefs and management, making food and wine pairing recommendations, educating and guiding guests about various wine selections, and ensuring the wine cellar is optimally stocked and organized. Additionally, team members will train waitstaff, plan and host exclusive wine tastings and special events, uphold health and safety standards, and stay informed about wine trends and production techniques.

In addition to competitive compensation, The Global Ambassador offers comprehensive benefits to team members working 25 or more hours per week, including medical, dental, and vision coverage. Those working over 32 hours are also eligible for paid time off. The hotel's culture fosters a dynamic and fast-paced work environment where employees thrive through collaboration and a shared passion for outstanding hospitality. Joining The Global Ambassador team means becoming part of a hospitality journey aimed at creating memorable moments for guests from around the globe, backed by a commitment to excellence and innovation in every aspect of the guest experience.
