Job Description

Werner Enterprises is a leading transportation and logistics company renowned for its commitment to drivers and innovative fleet management. Founded by a professional driver with a vision to create better working conditions and opportunities for truck drivers, Werner has established itself as a respected name in the trucking industry. With a rich history and a strong presence throughout North America, the company specializes in providing reliable freight solutions including dedicated, regional, and over-the-road (OTR) routes. Werner is committed to enhancing the career growth and job satisfaction of its drivers by offering a variety of benefits and flexible work options.

Werner Enterprises is currently hiring solo and team CDL-A drivers, presenting an exciting opportunity for both experienced professionals and recent graduates. Emphasizing a balanced approach to home time and pay, Werner offers multiple route options tailored to fit various lifestyle needs and preferences. More than half of their solo drivers earn over $75,000 annually, with top earners making between $90,000 and $100,000 depending on the route and experience. For team drivers, the annual earning range is typically between $55,000 and $85,000, with the Werner Team Elite Division providing even higher compensation—a range of $90,000 to $110,000 per driver annually.

This role allows drivers to work with modern, team-friendly equipment, and benefit from a Team Driver Matching Program that considers gender, veteran status, and other preferences to ensure the best possible pairing and job satisfaction. Nearly 90 percent of trips involve drop-and-hook freight for expedited shipments, and drivers receive priority load assignments to maximize earnings and efficiency.

Werner also supports its drivers through the Career Track program, which enables skill enhancement and professional development under the guidance of experienced Driver Leaders. With more than 250 home time and pay packages available, drivers have the flexibility to choose schedules such as daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or tri-weekly time off. Werner values the dignity and respect each driver deserves, and has designed its employment environment to support a fulfilling and prosperous career.

The company’s commitment extends beyond competitive pay. Drivers have access to a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid sick leave, life insurance, disability coverage, and an educational tuition reimbursement program offering up to $15,000 for qualifying candidates. Werner also caters to veterans through specialized programs and military skills test waivers.

Werner integrates advanced technology into its fleet operations, including collision mitigation systems, truck navigation, telematics devices, and 100 percent trailer tracking to enhance safety and operational efficiency. Drivers benefit from 24-hour maintenance assistance and a dedicated driver portal and app to streamline communication and fleet updates.

Overall, driving for Werner Enterprises means joining a company that values its drivers as the backbone of the organization, provides extensive support and career growth opportunities, and offers financial benefits aligned with the needs and aspirations of its workforce. Whether seeking steady dedicated routes or more dynamic OTR options, Werner presents a comprehensive career path for CDL-A drivers seeking competitive pay, excellent work-life balance, and a supportive employer.
