Job Description

Werner Enterprises is a leading transportation and logistics company dedicated to providing high-quality freight solutions across North America. Founded by a professional driver, Werner has built its reputation on treating all its drivers with care, dignity, and respect, recognizing that drivers are the backbone of the company's success and the nation's economy. The company specializes in various freight services, including dedicated, over-the-road (OTR), regional routes, and expedited freight, offering a wide range of home time and pay packages to meet diverse lifestyle needs. Werner prides itself on its driver-focused culture and commitment to innovation, leveraging advanced technology and a modern fleet equipped with state-of-the-art safety and telematics systems to ensure driver safety and efficiency.

Werner is currently hiring Solo and Team CDL-A Drivers, offering multiple route and home time options to fit various lifestyle preferences. The company provides competitive pay, with more than half of its drivers earning over $75,000 annually and the top 25 percent exceeding $85,000. Team drivers can earn between $55,000 and $85,000 or more each year, thanks to team-friendly equipment packages and a dedicated Team Driver Matching Program. This program strategically matches drivers based on gender, veteran status, and other personal preferences, ensuring optimal team compatibility and satisfaction. Additionally, nearly 90 percent of trips involve drop and hook for expedited freight, enabling smoother operations and less downtime.

Solo drivers at Werner benefit from opportunities to earn $75,000 to $100,000 annually, with top performers making between $90,000 and $100,000, especially on dedicated routes. The majority of solo drivers enjoy the advantage of getting home weekly or more frequently, supported by guaranteed weekly pay of up to $1,300 on select dedicated accounts. Beyond financial rewards, Werner emphasizes respect and recognition for drivers, fostering a positive work environment that supports professional growth and personal well-being.

Werner also offers a Team Elite Division, tailored for experienced team drivers with at least nine months of team driving experience. These elite teams earn between $90,000 and $110,000 annually, with the benefit of out-for-three-weeks and home-for-three-days schedules, priority truck assignments, and specialized support. This division is designed for those who want to maximize earnings while maintaining balanced home time.

The company supports ongoing career development through its Career Track program, which provides hands-on training and mentoring from skilled Driver Leaders. Werner’s recruiting team works closely with applicants to customize employment situations that best fit their financial goals and home time preferences.

Werner offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, health, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid sick leave, life insurance, disability coverage, and a health savings account (HSA) with health programs. For those seeking education advancement, Werner provides a $15,000 tuition reimbursement program for qualifying employees. Additional perks include paid tolls and fuel cards, a military skills test waiver, an elite veteran driver program, and an employee stock purchase plan. Drivers can also benefit from advanced technology such as collision mitigation devices, truck navigation systems, 100 percent trailer tracking, 24-hour maintenance assistance, and an intuitive Driver Portal and app.

The minimum requirements to join Werner include being at least 21 years old, holding a valid Class A CDL, having at least 30 days of commercial driving experience, maintaining an acceptable driving record, meeting all Department of Transportation qualifications, passing a DOT physical including a drug screen and company hair follicle testing, providing acceptable references from past employers, and the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Werner’s driver-centered ethos and robust support systems make it an ideal employer for both experienced drivers and recent graduates seeking a rewarding trucking career. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply today to speak with a recruiter and discover the best possible role tailored to their career needs and lifestyle preferences.
