Job Requirements
- Must have 2-5 years' prior experience in hotel sales
- must be proficient in Windows operating system and Microsoft Office Suite
- experience with Opera Express helpful
- must be willing to pitch-in and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player
- ability to use a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error
- ability to effectively deal with customers with high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy through negotiations and problem resolution
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and customers
- ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system
- must have the ability to communicate in English
- maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2-5 years' prior experience in hotel sales
- proven track record in achieving sales targets
- proficiency with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office Suite
- experience with Opera Express is helpful
- excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
- ability to build and maintain client relationships
- strong organizational and time management skills
- effective communication skills in English
- ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- knowledge of hospitality industry trends and market segmentation
Job Duties
- Solicit and secure new accounts
- service clients and groups on-site
- coordinate group rooming blocks, meeting space, and catering orders
- perform contract negotiations and vendor service agreements
- attain assigned sales and revenue goals
- proactively conduct solicitation calls, sales tours, and client entertainment
- grow existing client relationships
- deliver banquet event orders and resumes timely and accurately
- conduct monthly sales efforts including sales calls, prospecting calls, and site visits
- develop new potential markets
- create and implement innovative sales and marketing techniques
- maintain competitive analysis and account filing systems
- promote goodwill with in-house meeting planners
- maintain strong visibility in community and industry organizations
- drive and implement special sales promotions
- prepare required sales reports
- attend departmental meetings
- communicate operational changes to relevant departments
- perform additional duties as requested
- provide attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented guest and employee interactions
- develop a full working knowledge of hotel operations and policies
- deliver professional and courteous customer service at all times
