Job Requirements
- Must have 2-5 years prior experience in hotel sales
- Must be proficient in Windows operating system and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Opera Express helpful
- Must be willing to pitch-in and help co-workers
- Ability to use a calculator for complex calculations
- Ability to deal effectively with customers with patience, tact, and diplomacy
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to access and input information using computer systems
- Must be able to communicate in English
- Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
Job Qualifications
- Experience in hotel sales for 2-5 years
- Proficiency in Windows operating system and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations
- Strong negotiation and problem resolution skills
- Effective communication skills in English
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Professional appearance and manner
- Experience with Opera Express helpful
- Team player willing to assist co-workers
Job Duties
- Solicit and secure new accounts
- Service clients and groups on-site
- Generate hotel revenue by coordinating group room blocks, meeting space, and catering orders
- Perform contract negotiations and vendor service agreements
- Attain assigned sales and revenue goals
- Conduct solicitation calls, sales tours, and entertain clients
- Maintain and grow relationships with assigned accounts
- Deliver banquet event orders and resumes timely
- Conduct monthly proactive sales efforts including calls and site visits
- Develop and implement innovative sales and marketing techniques
- Maintain competitive analysis and statistical information
- Prepare and maintain reports and filing systems
- Promote goodwill with in-house meeting planners
- Maintain visibility in local community and industry organizations
- Drive and implement special promotions
- Attend meetings and communicate changes to management
- Provide courteous customer service
- Develop full knowledge of hotel operations and policies
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
