Job Requirements

  • valid driver's license
  • obtain Non-Movement Area Driving Certification upon hire
  • obtain Movement Area Driving Certification within 60 days of hire
  • pass TSA Security Threat Assessment and Criminal History Records Check
  • willingness to work onsite 5 days a week
  • availability to work any shift 24/7/365
  • ability to wear required personal protective equipment
  • ability to perform physical duties such as standing, walking, climbing, lifting, carrying
  • ability to operate motor vehicle in various weather and road conditions
  • maintain focused sensory abilities for reading, listening, and communication
  • pass pre-employment drug screening and physical exam

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • seven years of related work experience or associate's degree with four years related experience
  • bachelor's degree with two years related experience
  • master's degree with one year related experience
  • any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
  • effective oral and written communication skills
  • experience managing a team
  • knowledge of 14 CFR Part 139
  • ability to enforce safety regulations
  • experience in safety training development and delivery
  • familiarity with Safety Management System principles
  • ability to perform field inspections and hazard assessments
  • proficiency in building stakeholder relationships
  • skills in policy development and procedural improvements

Job Duties

  • assist the SMS Operations Manager with ensuring the Airport's compliance with 14 CFR Part 139
  • work on-site, 5 days per week
  • be available to work any shift 24/7/365, adhering to a non-standard/rotating schedule
  • lead a diverse team of Safety Management System Operations Coordinators responsible for daily SMS activities
  • respond to potential safety hazard reports and perform inspections
  • utilize advanced knowledge of 14 CFR Part 139 to make informed hazard decisions
  • ensure safety hazard reports are acknowledged and investigated timely
  • lead safety assurance efforts by evaluating inspections and mitigation records
  • build and maintain relationships with airport teams, tenants, stakeholders, and regulators
  • develop and provide AOA safety training to staff, tenants, and contractors
  • attend safety-related events and campaigns
  • audit SMS promotion activities
  • create and improve SMS policies and procedures
  • participate and oversee FOD Management Program
  • respond to emergency situations
  • perform other duties as assigned
