Job Requirements

  • Less than high school education or equivalent experience
  • Six months or less of similar or related work experience
  • Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
  • Ability to do simple addition and subtraction
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
  • Ability to write identifying information and request supplies orally or in writing
  • Must be able to perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly
  • Must have clarity of vision at distance and color vision
  • Must be able to perform physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • Must maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene and dress policies
  • Must report to work as scheduled and on time

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions
  • Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner
  • Make an effort to learn customers' names and address them by name when possible
  • Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading or unloading heavy items, noting and passing along customer suggestions or requests, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience
  • Answer telephone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service including taking customer orders
  • Take customer orders at the counter
  • Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
  • Handle food in a safe manner and maintain a clean and neat work area
  • Review the status and appearance of food for freshness
  • Ensure adequate food supply is ready and follow production lists
  • Anticipate daily product needs and prepare or replenish products as necessary
  • Check in product, put product away, and review invoices when applicable
  • Run departmental registers and handle payments and change as applicable
  • Remove trash in a timely manner
  • Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines
  • Adhere to company policies and store guidelines
  • Report to work as scheduled and on time
  • Wash dishes as necessary
  • Order products and supplies as needed
  • Price products for customers as necessary
  • Assist in other store areas as needed
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required
