The Small Group Sales Manager at Driftwood Hospitality Management plays a critical role as the local, on-property sales contact for customers. This position carries the responsibility for proactively seeking and managing all revenue-related opportunities, focusing keenly on upselling every business opportunity to maximize revenue. The role supports the achievement of both personal and team revenue goals for the hotel and ensures the smooth turnover of business for seamless service delivery.
This role is vital in building the hotel’s top-line revenue by adhering to established sales strategies and identifying potential revenue opportunities based on event profiles. By maintaining an aggressive and creative sales approach, the Small Group Sales Manager is expected to exceed individual revenue goals by effectively managing customer budgets and upselling additional products and services. They also serve as mentors within the sales team, consistently exceeding minimum company sales standards.
In addition to driving sales, the Small Group Sales Manager ensures high levels of guest satisfaction by building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with customers. This includes regular communication regarding event details, being present during event phases, and working closely with the Convention Services department for flawless event execution. They play a pivotal role in guest hospitality leadership and continually focus on exceeding customer expectations to foster loyalty and expand the hotel’s market share.

Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of progressive sales experience
- Familiarity with hospitality industry preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation and closing skills
- Ability to meet weekly prospecting goals
- Ability to conduct internet research
- Demonstrated customer relationship management abilities
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 10 pounds
- Commitment to company operating principles and business ethics
Job Qualifications
- Must have 1+ years of progressive sales experience
- Previous hospitality industry experience preferred
- Experience selling luxury brands and experiential services preferred
- Aggressive negotiating skills
- Creative selling abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of industry systems such as CI/TY and Cvent
- Strong customer development and relationship management skills
- Knowledge of menu planning and banquet operations
- Ability to manage guest room and meeting space inventories
