Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of progressive sales experience
  • Familiarity with hospitality industry preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Ability to meet weekly prospecting goals
  • Ability to conduct internet research
  • Demonstrated customer relationship management abilities
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Must have 1+ years of progressive sales experience
  • Previous hospitality industry experience preferred
  • Experience selling luxury brands and experiential services preferred
  • Aggressive negotiating skills
  • Creative selling abilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of industry systems such as CI/TY and Cvent
  • Strong customer development and relationship management skills
  • Knowledge of menu planning and banquet operations
  • Ability to manage guest room and meeting space inventories
  • Knowledge of AV products and contract management
  • Financial management skills including budgeting and forecasting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong presentation and organizational skills
  • Effective decision making skills
  • Ability to use hotel systems and software applications

Job Duties

  • Builds department top line revenue by adhering to sales strategy guidelines
  • Identifies revenue opportunities based on event profiles
  • Meets and exceeds individual revenue goals
  • Manages customer budgets to maximize revenue
  • Up-sells products and services throughout the sales process
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with new and existing customers
  • Conducts customer site inspections
  • Targets key accounts with emphasis on proactive solicitation
  • Responds to inquiries within 4 hours
  • Closes business opportunities
  • Forecasts group sleeping rooms and revenue
  • Creates sales contracts
  • Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Coordinates communication with customers
  • Greets customers during events and facilitates hand-off to Convention Services
  • Addresses guest problems and complaints
  • Demonstrates leadership in guest hospitality
  • Uses hotel systems to manage customer information
  • Holds self and others accountable for results
  • Addresses conflict timely
  • Contributes to team results
