Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Great customer service or public relation skills
Enjoys working with guests of all ages including children
Experience operating a snowmobile, ATV, or other motorized OHV is required
Thrives in a team environment
Flexible and willing to help wherever needed
Able to work independently
Experience working on a computer including Microsoft Excel
This position requires working weekends and holidays
Physical ability to walk, talk, see, hear, stand, navigate uneven terrain, and lift/pull/carry up to 50 pounds
Willingness to work with children
Must have or ability to attain Winter Park Resort Snowmobile Certification to operate snowmobiles

Job Duties

Provide safe, pleasant, and attentive care for the children of the Ski + Ride School
Directly oversee the emotional, physical, and social needs of children aged 3-14 for a maximum of 6 hours
Escort children and their gear responsibly around the Ski + Ride School facilities
Tend to children having trouble adjusting to their new surroundings or the cold
Provide activities and play opportunities
Facilitate groups through mealtime
Manage behavioral issues or incidents professionally
Interact with guests and families throughout the check in/out process to facilitate a welcoming environment
Perform gear checks to ensure proper fit and condition
Use Flaik student GPS tracking system to monitor lessons and resolve incidents
Work closely with instructors, supervisors, patrol, and lift operations
Maintain and transport Flaik equipment and guest supplies
Follow all health and safety procedures including proper hand washing, sanitization of toys and equipment, and cleaning of eating areas
Maintain guest-facing and employee areas including set up and take down of fencing, signage, and animation
Replenish water stations
Shovel walkways and decks
Inventory supplies and tools
Keep detailed logs and records of incidents
Report unsafe conditions and correct if possible
Work closely with Ski Patrol and Guest Services to safely transport guests and gear
Operate surface lifts, chair lifts, or gondolas assisting small children or transporting equipment
Perform regular equipment checks and minor repairs
Safely operate snowmobiles or other over-snow vehicles
Use radios and phones for constant communication
Set a positive example for employees and guests
Be knowledgeable about the Ski + Ride School and base area
Adhere to all Resort policies and procedures
Cross train to assist various departments within the Ski + Ride School and Resort
Perform other duties as assigned
