Job Description

The Boys and Girls Club serving the Lancaster School District is a dedicated youth development organization committed to providing safe, engaging, and outcome-based programs for young people. Operating within various school sites across the district, the Club fosters an environment that empowers youth to develop self-confidence, leadership skills, and a sense of responsibility. Identified as a part-time, seasonal role, the Site Coordinator position is designed for individuals passionate about youth mentorship and program management, typically dedicating 20-30 hours per week. The role is seasonal, starting from July 22, 2025, through to June 5, 2026, with program hours generally running from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday, including occasional minimum and extended days for site preparation, trainings, and meetings. This position offers hourly pay starting at $20.75, which may vary based on qualifications and availability.

As a Site Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in directly overseeing the quality and execution of programs at your designated site. This comprehensive youth-centered position requires you to plan, implement, and monitor National Club Programs and grant-funded initiatives that align with outcome-based objectives aimed at fostering youth development. Your responsibilities are not only administrative but also deeply relational, involving mentorship, engagement, and ensuring a positive, safe environment for all participants. The role demands effective management of staff and volunteers, careful maintenance of site safety and equipment, ongoing evaluation to meet member needs including cultural diversity considerations, and detailed record-keeping for compliance and reporting purposes.

Moreover, the Site Coordinator is instrumental in building positive relationships with youth members, parents, school personnel, and team members, fostering a community atmosphere conducive to learning and growth. Leadership within the role is demonstrated by encouraging active participation, modeling positive behavior, facilitating specialized activities across various development areas such as Character and Leadership, Education and Career Development, Health and Life Skills, the Arts, and Sports and Recreation. The position requires flexibility, organization, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks within a dynamic and sometimes loud environment, with physical demands including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 pounds. This role also mandates a valid California driver’s license, CPR/First Aid certification (with in-person training), and background checks including TB and drug tests to ensure the safety and well-being of the youth served.

The Boys and Girls Club offers a supportive work environment where professional development is encouraged through required training and teamwork. As a vital part of the organization, the Site Coordinator impacts the lives of children and adolescents by providing consistent mentorship, promoting positive behaviors, and supporting youth in reaching their full potential as productive, caring citizens. Candidates interested in this role are expected to demonstrate a passion for working with children, a commitment to safety standards, and a strong desire to contribute to community development through meaningful program delivery and engagement.
