MWVCAA, or Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency, is a well-established nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering individuals and families throughout the Mid-Willamette Valley region of Oregon. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year experience cooking for groups of 25 or more
- Valid driver license and insured vehicle available
- Satisfactory driving record for previous three years
- Successful registration with Central Background Registry before starting
- CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 60 days
- Food Handlers Card or ability to obtain
- ServSafe Manager certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Pass pre-employment physical examination
- Pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to use kitchen equipment including range, oven, steamer and dishwasher
- Ability to drive frequently in all weather conditions
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with deadlines
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year experience cooking for groups of 25 or more
- Valid driver license with a satisfactory driving record
- Registration with Central Background Registry prior to start
- CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 60 days
- Food Handlers Card or ability to obtain
- ServSafe Manager certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Basic knowledge of nutrition and cooking principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web communication tools
- Strong organizational, record keeping and math skills
- Ability to follow recipes and manage kitchen inventory
Job Duties
- Prepare nutritious breakfast, snack and lunch for children
- Comply with all health, safety and CACFP nutritional standards
- Follow recipes and cycle menus to ensure consistent food quality
- Manage food allergies, religious preferences and special dietary needs
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas
- Order, store and inventory food and kitchen supplies
- Complete food service records and required documentation
- Collaborate with classroom staff to support nutrition education and meal activities
- Assist with meal setup and monitor children during meal times
- Adhere to MWVCAA safety and personnel policies including punctuality
- Safely drive to various Head Start and Early Head Start sites as needed
