This Full-Time Non-Management Food and Beverage position at Gaylord Hotels is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about delivering quality service in a vibrant, dynamic environment. The role compensates a pay rate of $8.25 per hour and includes eligibility for tips, making it an appealing option for those interested in the hospitality industry. As a Food and Beverage team member, you will be responsible for serving meals and alcoholic beverages to guests and enhancing their dining experience with engaging entertainment such as singing. The role requires attention to various waiter tasks while interacting with guests.

A key part of your duties includes setting tables appropriately according to event types and service standards and responding knowledgeably to guest menu inquiries. Effective communication with the kitchen staff regarding menu questions, wait times, reheating requests, product availability, and specific dietary needs or allergies is essential. Utilization of the MICROS system to record transactions accurately at the time of order is a critical task to ensure seamless service flow.

Guest satisfaction is paramount, and following up to confirm that each dish or drink meets their expectations reflects the dedication required in this role. Maintaining cleanliness throughout your workspace, including dishware and glassware, during the entire shift is necessary to uphold health and safety standards. You will also complete closing tasks such as restocking supplies and turning off lights to prepare for the next operating day.

Working at Gaylord Hotels entails strict adherence to company policies and safety procedures, including reporting any accidents or hazardous conditions to management and completing safety training and certifications. Personal presentation and professionalism are crucial, alongside safeguarding company information and property. The role involves welcoming guests with warmth according to company standards, anticipating their needs, assisting guests with disabilities, and showing genuine appreciation for their patronage.

Effective communication skills are essential for this position, requiring clear, professional language and the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues. Collaboration and support within the team to achieve common goals are highly encouraged, along with constructive responses to workplace issues.

Physical demands of the role include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and handling objects weighing up to 25 pounds independently or heavier items with assistance. Navigating various surfaces, climbing stairs or ramps, and reaching overhead or low areas comprise daily activities, requiring agility and coordination.

Candidates ideally possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED along with at least one year of related work experience. Prior supervisory experience and additional certification are not required, making this position accessible to those looking to build their hospitality career.
