  • thorough knowledge of cooking methods and principles governing food preparation
  • having a grasp of food safety standards and hygiene protocols is essential
  • achieve certification in food safety, if it has not been procured beforehand
  • foundational skills in mathematics and counting
  • skillful in both communication and teamwork capacities
  • having a high school diploma or its equivalent is preferable, although it is not mandatory

Job Duties

  • Create a diverse selection of dishes using standardized recipes and production guidelines
  • prepare workstations by organizing required ingredients and utensils
  • prepare ingredients by cutting, trimming, quantifying, blending, and so on
  • utilize different kitchen utensils and equipment like knives, ovens, stovetops, and mixers safely by following recommended guidelines
  • prepare and cook dishes through baking, broiling, roasting, steaming, and other culinary processes
  • arrange, adorn, and serve food in a manner that meets prescribed criteria for its visual display
  • conform to all food safety regulations and store food in the recommended manner
