The role of Side Cook at Aramark offers an exciting opportunity to showcase culinary creativity within a dynamic and supportive environment. This role allows for experimenting with various cuisines, flavors, and cooking methods while adhering to precise production norms and safety protocols established by Aramark. As a Side Cook, you will prepare a variety of dishes using standardized recipes and production guidelines, skillfully using kitchen utensils and equipment such as knives, ovens, stovetops, and mixers. The role requires organization of workstations, preparation of ingredients by cutting, trimming, quantifying, and blending, as well as cooking methods including baking, broiling, roasting, and steaming.

Beyond the technical aspects, the Side Cook is expected to maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen by following stringent food safety standards and hygiene protocols, sanitizing equipment, and ensuring proper food storage. Offering exceptional customer care with a positive attitude is integral to this role. Adherence to safety and sanitation regulations and safeguarding company assets are critical responsibilities. Job Requirements

  • Previous history in the kitchen or a relevant culinary setting
  • Thorough knowledge of cooking methods and principles governing food preparation
  • Having a grasp of food safety standards and hygiene protocols is essential
  • Achieve certification in food safety, if it has not been procured beforehand
  • Foundational skills in mathematics and counting
  • Skillful in both communication and teamwork capacities
  • Having a high school diploma or its equivalent is preferable, although it is not mandatory

Job Duties

  • Create a diverse selection of dishes using standardized recipes and production guidelines
  • Prepare workstations by organizing required ingredients and utensils
  • Prepare ingredients by cutting, trimming, quantifying, blending, and so on
  • Utilize different kitchen utensils and equipment like knives, ovens, stovetops, and mixers safely by following recommended guidelines
  • Prepare and cook dishes through baking, broiling, roasting, steaming, and other culinary processes
  • Arrange, adorn, and serve food in a manner that meets prescribed criteria for its visual display
  • Conform to all food safety regulations and store food in the recommended manner
  • Sanitize and disinfect kitchen areas, gear, and utensils to ensure a safe food preparation environment
  • Offer outstanding customer care and exude a positive outlook
  • Adhere strictly to all safety and sanitation rules prescribed by Aramark
  • Ensure the safety of corporate valuables
