The company is currently seeking dedicated and service-oriented individuals for the role of Bus Attendant, primarily responsible for ensuring a high standard of service, safety, and maintenance aboard buses, particularly in airport or transit settings. This role involves performing vehicle inspections, maintaining cleanliness, fueling buses, assisting disabled passengers, logging trip counts, and offering courteous customer service. The Bus Attendant acts as a vital link between customers and the facility management team by addressing inquiries, reporting accidents, and monitoring for safety hazards. Experience with operating shuttle buses and proficiency in local geography, including knowledge of major streets, landmarks, and freeways, will be advantageous. Candidates must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license and maintain an acceptable Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) record, along with holding a Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card). The job demands physical activity such as standing, walking, occasional lifting of weights up to 75 pounds, and the ability to perform basic mathematical and communication tasks to ensure the accurate handling of operations. Job Requirements
- Possess a valid state-issued driver’s license to be carried with driver, at all times, while on duty
- Have and maintain an acceptable DMV record
- Required to have and maintain a valid state driver’s license with current address and acceptable driving record
- A medical examiner’s certificate (DOT medical card) is required
- Availability to work 3rd shift and/or weekends may be a requirement
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers and other employees of the company
- Ability to add, subtract, two digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance and be in complete uniform at all times
- Ability to stand, walk, occasionally sit, climb or balance
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
Job Qualifications
- Less than high school education or one month related experience, training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers and other employees of the company
- Ability to add, subtract two digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money
- Employees will be required to maintain a neat and clean appearance and be in complete uniform at all times
Job Duties
- Performing vehicle inspections, maintaining cleanliness of bus interiors, fueling of buses, logging trip counts and assisting disabled passengers
- Responsible for being at work every scheduled day, on time and in uniform
- Possess a valid state-issued driver’s license to be carried with driver, at all times, while on duty
- Have and maintain an acceptable DMV record
- Courteously assist customers by answering any questions they may have
- direct the customer to the facility manager for further assistance if necessary
- Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the facility manager
- Communicate debris, water, oil spills and etc. to garage office
- Substitute for cashiers or valets, when necessary, if authorized
- Have a thorough knowledge of all areas of the garage, thorough knowledge of the major streets, landmarks and freeways in the area of the garage
- Assisting customers with luggage and other traveling items, if applicable (e.g. operating shuttle buses at an airport location)
- Assist facility manager with other duties as needed
