Established as one of the premier children’s hospitals in the United States, Cincinnati Children’s has earned a reputation for excellence, being ranked as a top 10 best children’s hospital for more than 15 years by U.S. News & World Report. Its commitment to advancing pediatric health is reflected in groundbreaking research, significant National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding, and accolades such as being named one of America’s Best Large Employers and one of America’s Most Innovative Companies. The hospital fosters a culture of teamwork, innovation, and respect, aiming to provide holistic care for patients and their families while supporting the professional growth of its employees. As an equal opportunity employer, Cincinnati Children’s is committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring all qualified applicants receive fair consideration regardless of background or status.

The role of a Vehicle Operator at Cincinnati Children’s is a vital position within the Parking & Transportation department. This full-time position, based at the Burnet Campus, involves the safe operation of hospital vehicles, specifically 15-passenger vans or smaller, to provide reliable transportation services to and from campus and various off-campus locations. The Vehicle Operator is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle, ensuring that all transportation experiences are smooth, safe, and efficient. This role requires strict adherence to all department policies related to vehicle use and maintenance, fostering a professional and secure travel environment.

Customer service is a key component of this role, as the Vehicle Operator must meet and exceed expectations by delivering courteous and dependable transportation services. Additional responsibilities include performing transportation duties for special assignments such as Joint Commission visits, rehabilitation patient outings, and Mobile Care Clinics. Cincinnati Children’s values innovation and encourages the responsible use of technology to enhance operational effectiveness, which supports the Vehicle Operator’s role in providing exceptional service.

The position offers a competitive starting pay range of $16.50 to $19.80 per hour, with full-time status and a regular daytime shift schedule. Working 40 hours per week, employees are integral in supporting the hospital’s mission to improve children’s health through dedicated transportation services. By ensuring timely and safe transportation for patients, staff, and special programs, the Vehicle Operator contributes directly to the hospital’s overall care delivery infrastructure, helping Cincinnati Children’s maintain its status as a leading institution in pediatric healthcare.
