The company operates with a culture deeply rooted in promoting from within, offering robust training programs, and emphasizing continuous improvement. With a broad portfolio that includes meats, produce, frozen foods, dry goods, and other essential food products, US Foods serves a wide range of customers, from independent restaurants to large foodservice operations. This extensive network requires a dedicated and professional team of drivers who play a crucial role in the company's supply chain and overall success.
This position focuses on the role of a Shuttle Driver, responsible for safely operating tractor trailers to transport various products to and from remote dispatch sites. Shuttle Drivers at US Foods must possess a valid CDL Class A license with a doubles endorsement, as transporting double trailers is a key aspect of the job. The role involves performing pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations. Drivers may also be required to assist with backhaul or delivery driver duties as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork within the logistics operations.
The position offers a competitive wage of $35.58 per hour with additional overtime compensation as applicable. The work schedule is Sunday through Thursday with a 5:00 pm start time, accommodating those who are comfortable working overnight shifts. This role demands an individual who can confidently and safely work in inclement weather and other challenging driving conditions, fostering a strong safety culture emphasized throughout the company.
US Foods supports its workforce not only through competitive pay but also with an extensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plans, life insurance, and various other employee benefits designed to promote well-being and job satisfaction. The company values integrity, reliability, and dedication in its drivers, who are considered vital representatives of US Foods both on and off the road.
This career opportunity at US Foods is ideal for those who seek stability, growth, and a supportive work environment within the foodservice distribution sector. The company's commitment to compliance, training, and professional development ensures that its drivers are equipped to meet the demands of the role with confidence and pride, contributing to US Foods’ reputation as an industry leader.
