The company is dedicated not only to delivering quality food products but also to building meaningful relationships with its clients. A dedicated team consisting of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and industry experts works closely with customers to provide valuable advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. This holistic support enables independent restaurant owners and other customers to thrive and achieve their business goals in a competitive foodservice market.

Performance Foodservice is known for its commitment to creating a safe and inclusive working environment where employees are respected, rewarded, and recognized for their contributions. The company offers competitive pay along with an attractive benefits package that includes health and wellness benefits from day one, employee stock purchase plans, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off. Furthermore, the organization fosters growth opportunities, allowing employees to advance while playing an essential role in America’s food distribution system.

The Shuttle Driver position is integral to the smooth operation of Performance Foodservice’s logistic functions. This role focuses on transporting empty and full trailers between operating company warehouses and domiciles or shuttle yard locations. The driver operates tandem trailers, tractor trailers, and/or straight trucks, covering both intrastate and interstate routes. A key responsibility is ensuring the timely and safe transportation of goods while adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety guidelines.

Scheduled primarily from Sunday through Friday with one to three trips dispatched between the hours of 2:30 pm and 12:00 am, this role involves rigorous attention to vehicle inspection, paperwork accuracy, and safe driving practices. The role includes a comprehensive 2-week training conducted in Temple, TX, equipping drivers with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.

Additional incentives are offered, such as a $5,000 sign-on bonus (with certain eligibility restrictions) and a performance incentive that rewards drivers quarterly for meeting specific benchmarks, with the opportunity to earn up to $2,000 annually. These incentives underscore the company’s recognition of the hard work and commitment shown by its drivers.

Overall, the Shuttle Driver position is vital not only for operational logistics but also for maintaining the company’s reputation for reliability and excellence in foodservice distribution. Performance Foodservice values professionalism and teamwork, expecting its drivers to communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers in a courteous and effective manner.
