The Shuttle Driver position at Cheney Brothers is a critical role within the company's operations, focused on the timely transportation of empty and full trailers between warehouse locations and shuttle yards. This role operates primarily on a night shift from Sunday to Friday, starting at 7:00 PM, with one day off included mid-week. The position offers a competitive yearly salary ranging from $60,000 to $65,000. The driver will be responsible for handling tandem trailers, tractor trailers, or straight trucks, primarily on intrastate routes, but occasionally on interstate routes as required. A valid CDL A license with a doubles endorsement is mandatory for this role.

In this role, the Shuttle Driver conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring all equipment meets safety standards as per Department of Transportation regulations. Drivers will be expected to perform hook and unhook procedures safely, secure loads properly, manage daily hours of service logbooks, and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and co-workers. The ability to perform physical tasks such as hand-lifting and using equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates is essential, as product cases can weigh between 60 and 90 pounds.
