Job Requirements

  • Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures
  • Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences
  • Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties
  • Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies
  • Must be 18 years or older to operate balers, hi-los, power jacks, and slicing machines

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand English
  • Experience or demonstrated ability to work in a bakery or food production environment preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes
  • Basic math skills for inventory and production logging
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Understanding of safety and sanitation standards in food handling
  • Previous experience in retail or supermarket setting is an asset
  • Ability to manage time and multitask efficiently
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the shift
  • Knowledge of proper food handling and cleanliness procedures

Job Duties

  • Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
  • Maintain department sanitation and QA standards including personal hygiene and clean equipment
  • Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment as required
  • Keep floor clear of debris and spills
  • Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
  • Maintain and properly use all department equipment
  • Pack out product into display cases
  • Rotate product to ensure freshness
  • Ensure accurate signage for the department
  • Prepare trays to company and customer satisfaction
  • Follow recipes to produce food products with specified flavor, texture and appearance
  • Set up, operate, and tend bakery equipment according to formulas or recipes
  • Track movement of sales on production logs
  • Take inventory of supplies weekly and reorder as needed
  • Handle deliveries and place merchandise properly in the bakery
  • Promote current charitable sales to customers
  • Stand for the duration of the scheduled shift
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • Adhere to company safety and sanitation policies
  • Work cooperatively with others
  • Follow approved procedures for receiving, storing, price marking, arranging and restocking products
  • Maintain punctual and regular attendance
  • Work overtime as assigned
  • Follow company’s HAZCOM program and safety protocols
  • Check refrigeration equipment and report failures
  • Complete all required department training programs
  • Dress and groom according to company policy including uniform and name badge
