Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally renowned coffeehouse chain committed to crafting the world's finest coffee while creating meaningful moments for its customers. Established as a leader in specialty coffee, Starbucks has transformed the coffee drinking experience into a daily ritual that sparks connection and fosters community. The company’s mission revolves around offering a warm and welcoming environment where every cup of coffee serves as a catalyst for conversation, relaxation, and shared experiences. Beyond just coffee, Starbucks embraces a culture of respect, inclusion, and continuous growth for both its customers and partners (employees). The company operates thousands of stores worldwide, each designed to be a neighborhood gathering place with a focus on quality, sustainability, and innovation.

As a shift supervisor at Starbucks, you will serve as a key leader within your coffeehouse, guiding the team to deliver exceptional customer experiences with craftsmanship and heart. This role is pivotal in maintaining the welcoming atmosphere Starbucks is known for, while supporting operational excellence during your shift. You will be responsible for overseeing daily store operations including beverage and food preparation, ensuring high standards of quality, customer service, and safety are upheld. The position requires flexibility as shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays.

In addition to leading by example in customer interaction and product knowledge, you will coach and develop your team members, fostering a positive work environment where everyone can thrive. Starbucks values your growth journey and empowers you through developmental opportunities, combining hands-on experiences with industry-leading benefits. This role offers the chance not only to advance your leadership skills but also to contribute to a community-focused workplace where every day brings the opportunity to brighten someone’s day.

Starbucks emphasizes the importance of effective communication, teamwork, and relationship building, which are essential qualities for a shift supervisor. Your ability to quickly learn and adapt will be instrumental in managing store operations efficiently, delegating tasks, and supporting your team in meeting store standards. The role also requires strong organizational skills to handle cash operations, maintain store safety and security, and manage food and beverage preparation according to strict recipes or customer preferences.

Starbucks is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package that supports the well-being of partners and their families. This includes access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance options, disability coverage, paid parental leave, paid vacation and sick time accrual, and holiday pay. Partners also have opportunities for financial growth through a 401(k) plan with employer matching, stock purchase programs, and tuition coverage for qualified educational programs. The company is committed to equitable employment practices, providing reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities, and fostering an inclusive workplace.

By joining Starbucks as a shift supervisor, you will be part of a company that not only values great coffee and customer experience but also invests deeply in the success and well-being of its partners. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about leadership, customer service, and making a positive impact in their community every day.
