Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized leader in the coffeehouse industry, dedicated to crafting the world's finest coffee while fostering meaningful connections among customers and communities. Established as a pioneering coffee retailer, Starbucks has built an impressive reputation by offering high-quality coffee and a thoughtfully crafted customer experience. The company places a strong emphasis on creating a warm and inviting atmosphere where every cup of coffee serves as an opportunity for connection, comfort, and community engagement. Known for its commitment to ethical sourcing, environmental stewardship, and inclusion, Starbucks continually advances its mission to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at a time.

Starbucks operates a widespread network of company-operated stores and licensed locations worldwide, making it one of the most prominent and beloved brands in the food and beverage sector. It has become synonymous with coffee culture and innovation, blending a distinct approach to customer service with premium products. Beyond coffee, Starbucks offers a variety of food items, beverages, and merchandise to enhance the customer experience.

The role of Shift Supervisor at Starbucks is a vital leadership position within the store environment, focused on ensuring operational excellence and crafting memorable customer experiences. As a shift supervisor, you will lead with both craft and heart, serving as a role model to partners (employees) while fostering a community-centric atmosphere within your coffeehouse. This role requires not only skillful preparation of coffee and food but also a dedication to team leadership, customer satisfaction, and operational standards.

As a Shift Supervisor, your responsibilities will include managing and coordinating the daily activities of the store during your shift. You will be responsible for delegating tasks to your team, maintaining quality and safety standards, and ensuring that each customer receives exceptional service. The role demands attentive coaching and development of partners to enable professional growth and elevated performance, thereby contributing to a positive workplace culture. This leadership position also requires adaptability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays, making it essential to possess consistency in attendance and punctuality.

In addition to the operational focus, Starbucks offers its partners a rich benefits package designed to support overall well-being and professional advancement. These benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options, basic and supplemental life insurance, disability coverage, paid parental leave, vacation and sick time accrual, and offers access to retirement plans such as 401(k) with employer match. Starbucks also promotes educational growth through its College Achievement Plan, providing 100% tuition coverage for a first-time bachelor’s degree via Arizona State University's online program. Other perks include financial well-being tools, stock purchase programs, family expansion reimbursement, and more.

Starbucks values diversity and inclusion, ensuring equal opportunity employment and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws concerning employee rights and accommodations. As an established employer, Starbucks aims to create a supportive work environment tailored to empower its partners in their career journeys while maintaining a customer-centric focus that elevates the brand experience continuously.
