Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized leader in the coffeehouse industry, known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and community engagement. Established with the vision to craft the world's finest coffee, Starbucks has grown into a friendly, vibrant environment where customers are invited to enjoy more than just a beverage—they experience a meaningful moment of connection and comfort. With thousands of stores worldwide, Starbucks maintains a focus on sustainability, ethical sourcing, and creating a welcoming atmosphere that fosters a sense of belonging for both customers and partners (employees). As a company, Starbucks supports its partners' professional and personal growth, offering comprehensive training programs and industry-leading benefits that emphasize health, education, and financial well-being.

Joining Starbucks means becoming part of a team that treasures craft and heart in every interaction. The role of a shift supervisor at Starbucks is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the coffeehouse while inspiring a community-focused environment. As a shift supervisor, you will lead your team by example, coaching partners to deliver exceptional customer service and high-quality coffee and food preparation to Starbucks' rigorous standards. Every shift is an opportunity to brighten someone’s day, making the workplace a welcoming space that enhances customer experiences and builds lasting connections.

In this leadership position, you will be responsible for overseeing daily store operations, managing staff schedules, delegating tasks, and ensuring compliance with company policies related to safety, quality, and security. Your leadership will help foster a collaborative atmosphere, working as part of a team to meet business goals while maintaining the Starbucks culture of warmth and inclusivity. This position requires the ability to interact effectively with customers and partners, strong interpersonal skills, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Starbucks invests heavily in its partners by providing access to comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans, paid parental leave, vacation, sick time, and holiday pay, alongside participation in retirement plans with employer matches. The company also offers educational opportunities such as the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, which covers 100% of tuition for a first-time bachelor’s degree through Arizona State University’s online program. These benefits, combined with the company’s emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion, support a rewarding and flexible work environment.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about coffee culture, thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, and seek to develop their leadership skills in a supportive and dynamic setting. The employment type is typically full-time with flexible working hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays to best serve the community. The compensation level is competitive and varies by location, with new partners generally starting at the entry point of the range for their role. Starbucks embraces equal employment opportunity principles and is committed to accommodating applicants with disabilities throughout the hiring process.
