The Shift Manager - Beverage plays a pivotal role within The Venetian Resort’s Beverage Department, overseeing all beverage-related functions to ensure compliance with hotel standards and elevated guest satisfaction. This management position requires a proactive leader dedicated to fostering a high-quality service philosophy, maintaining 4-Star standards, and leading a talented beverage team. The role demands continuous quality improvement initiatives, staff training, adherence to state liquor laws, and effective resource management, including budgeting and staffing. The Shift Manager is responsible for creating an organized, clean, and safe work environment, consistently reflecting The Venetian Resort’s core values in day-to-day operations.

Key responsibilities include directing and motivating team members, overseeing service quality, handling disciplinary matters, and ensuring operational alignment with the company’s standards and legal regulations. Job Requirements

  • 21 years of age
  • proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years experience managing shift in beverage department required
  • prior experience managing multiple locations preferred
  • knowledge of proper food service and sanitation required
  • fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal and bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • ability to compute basic mathematical calculations
  • work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
  • must be able to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English both in oral and written form
  • must possess interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts
  • must maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Venetian Resort appearance standards
  • must maintain consistent adherence to the Venetian Resort unmatched guest service standards
  • must be available to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Directs, implements and maintains a service and management philosophy which serves as a guide to respective staff
  • constantly seek ways to improve quality
  • develop and maintain 4-Star standards
  • provide feedback to staff on their performance
  • handle disciplinary problems and counsel employees according to hotel standards
  • develop and maintain ongoing training initiatives (daily and monthly)
  • maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards
  • maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
  • be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
  • monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
  • consistently demonstrate Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino core values
  • maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving
  • assist staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests
  • focus on achieving the goals or objectives of the department using available resources (staff and budgetary)
  • successfully manages a 5-Star and 5-Diamond Beverage Team
  • monitors team performance in all phases of service and job functions
  • rectify deficiencies
  • manage staff and organize department functions in accordance with company guidelines
